Lost on Purpose: The Adventures of a 21st Century Mountain Man

About this book

His marriage was over, his career unraveled. Everything he'd constructed for twenty years - including his identity - had come apart. So Pat Taylor did what made no sense to anyone who knew him but complete sense to him. He walked across the Rocky Mountains. Alone. In winter. Not to prove something, but to find out if there was anything left. "Lost on Purpose" is the true story of a former technology executive who chose the wilderness over the wreckage and came back with something more valuable than the life he'd lost. In the autumn of 2013, Taylor crossed one of the largest wilderness areas in the lower forty-eight, retracing the route of Lewis and Clark alone on foot through the mountains of Idaho. No guide. No safety net. Nothing to achieve except peace of mind.
